On How Much Are Democrats Paying Their Consultants

So I was at a birthday happy hour(s) last night with mostly Hill staffers and people were on their phones and blackberries checking out the latest news about the possible federal government shutdown. Yes it is DC. We learned that the House and Senate reached a deal to fund the rest of the government and everyone cheered. Yes, again it is DC.

Despite the Democrats conceding most everything, other than controversial policy riders (well almost). Most people believe that the Republicans were the ones that saved the day. I find this very disturbing. I'm not new to politics at all and I know the dynamics that go on but this continues to baffle me. The things that Democrats continue to do that benefit everyone never gets reported. I kind of feel like its a Jan and Marsha Brady thing. I guess Democrats are Jan and will always be relegated to strange storylines.

So the government won't shutdown for another week. Apparently the rest of 2011 is funded... let's see what happens!
